In May, the Dutch government presented their new policy strategy towards Dutch-Sino relation: The Netherlands and China: A New Balance.
The policy paper discusses both the opportunities and critical points of the Dutch-Sino relationship, but it mainly remains to the existing policy of the Netherlands (and European Union). For instance, the Netherlands wants to expand its entry to the Chinese market by among others having new investment treaties and multiple-years marketing strategies. On the other hand, China is considered to be a potential threat towards the economy as well as the national security. The Chinese collaboration with regards to climate, raw materials and energy is also explained. The Netherlands wants to keep continuing the existing collaboration on (renewable) energy, circular economy, environment technology, and sustainable mobility. The latter could be interesting for enterprises operating in the sustainability sector.
